Rebel Music is a new documentary series by MTV World premiering this fall, looking into the lives of young people who are using art and music to ignite change in their countries. The series travels to selected regions including Egypt, Afghanistan, Mali, India, Israel/Palestine; and will include a spin-off feature documentary project. The two executive producers of the series, Nusrat Durrani (MTV World) and Shepard Fairey (Obey Giant) discussed the ambitious project and its innovative efforts to engage new audiences.

      Nusrat Durrani is General Manager/ SVP of MTV World (a division of Viacom Media Networks), which focuses on emerging music and pop culture from around the world. The division is a global creative and content engine that also recently produced the Rebel Music Documentary series.

      Acclaimed artist, Shepard Fairey has changed the way people see art and the urban landscape. He created the ‘Andre the Giant has a Posse’ sticker that transformed into the OBEY GIANT art campaign His work has evolved into an acclaimed body of art, which includes the 2008 ‘Hope’ portrait of Barack Obama.
