TIFF, a vibrant not-for-profit arts organization, is hiring for the paid full-time contract position of:

PROGRAMMING INTERN, TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX

This is an exciting year for TIFF as we present unique programming in our new home and the world's
premiere centre for film, TIFF Bell Lightbox. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a new era in Toronto's cultural history.

Reporting to the Coordinator, TIFF Bell Lightbox Programming, the Programming Intern will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting with day-to-day office tasks and short-term projects. We are interested in applicants who have a specific interest in Arts Administration, Film or Contemporary Art. This internship is an ideal opportunity for a student or a recent graduate of an applicable degree or diploma programme.

Responsibilities

Shall include but not be limited to…
•Provide support to the Coordinator, TIFF Bell Lightbox Programming in administrative duties, including: Booking, scheduling, reconfirmations and minute taking, faxing, mailing and filing.
•Provide administrative support for all Bell Lightbox Departments including Adult Learning, Film Programmes and Exhibitions.
•Compile background research for upcoming events, potential exhibitions, guests, film programmes and other programming undertakings, as directed.
•Assist in the preparation of programming briefs and presentations
•Attend Bell Lightbox meetings (and screenings, per availability)
•Compile statistics on film screenings and events at TIFF Bell Lightbox
•Run errands, as needed
•Other duties, as assigned

Contract dates:  Start-date April 2013, 16-week contract

Minimum Requirements

•Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a post secondary or equivalent programme in arts or cultural management, or film studies.
•Superior oral and written communication skills
•Exceptional interpersonal skills
•Ability to meet tight deadlines
•Ability to work well individually and with a team
•Excellent phone manner
•Solid research skills
•High computer proficiency (Microsoft Office experience preferred, knowledge of g-mail, databases and Internet)
•Previous experience using Google Docs and Google Sites for working collaboratively in a team environment
•Familiarity with TIFF and its activities
•Interest in Film or Contemporary Art is an asset
•Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
