Associate, Membership

This will be an exciting year for TIFF as we present unique programming in our new home and the world's premiere centre for film, TIFF Bell Lightbox.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a new era in Toronto's cultural history.

Reporting to the Manager, Membership, the Associate, Membership will provide assistance in all areas of membership and fundraising development at TIFF.

Responsibilities

•Support the Membership team in all revenue generation efforts.
•Monitor membership/fundraising ratios/benchmarks.
•Assist in the administration of acquisition initiatives, including front-line sales and coordination of renewal campaigns.
•Provide writing assistance for campaigns, correspondence, reports and other materials.
•Prepare and customize solicitation and stewardship packages, including membership welcome packages and renewal notices.
•Assist in the preparation of reports, briefing materials and research profiles.
•Coordinate volunteer support on membership acquisition and stewardship projects, as required.
•Create and send tax receipts and other correspondence (i.e. thank you letters).
•Support in the coordination of member and donor events, including the TIFF Members’ Lounge.
•Solicit, gather and maintain a file of content for use in proposals, program guides, e-newsletters and other membership/fundraising materials; including programming information and statistics.
•Act as liaison between donor servicing staff and sales team.
•Assist in general fundraising efforts, as assigned.

Start Date: January 2013

Minimum Requirements

•Post-Secondary degree in arts administration or Fundraising diploma preferred.
•Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task, prioritize as necessary and have high attention to detail.
•Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
•Accountable, ethical, demonstrates exceptional follow-through; ability to respect and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
•Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
•Ability to learn quickly, take initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team.
•Strong technical skills, including experience with online resources, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications; preferably a working knowledge of Raisers Edge.
•Commitment to professional development, AFP Code of Conduct and Donor Bill of Rights.
•Adaptable to a flexible work schedule, including some evening and weekends.
•Consideration given to previous fundraising/membership experience in the arts and an appreciation of film as a cultural art form. Familiarization with the Canadian arts community and business community is a strong asset.
