'Docs could well eclipse most everything else happening at the Toronto International Film Festival', writes
Guy Dixon in the Globe and Mail
.Well, we're not going to argue. The past couple days, TIFF's documentary line-up has been receiving lots of high profile coverage.
It's no wonder with so much high-wattage talent coming to Toronto to support
these films: Senegalese pop star
Youssou Ndour for Youssou Ndour: I Bring
What I Love
; Olympic gold-medal winner LeBron James for
More Than a Game
; guitarists Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White for
It Might Get Loud
; artists Chuck Close and Julian Schnabel for
Picasso & Braque Go to the Movies
; actors Matt Damon and Josh Brolin for
The People Speak
; and so on.
Meanwhile, today's New York Times has an article titles
'Nostalgia for New
York, by Way of the Toronto Film Festival
'
that highlights the docs
Every Little Step
( pictured above right which is about the making of
A Chorus Line
) and
American Swing
(about the 1970s swingers club Plato's Retreat).
Associated Press writes about LeBron James and his high school basketball team coming to TIFF for
More Than a Game
in the
Toronto Star
.
Single tickets are on sale today. See you at the movies!
